Remember these reports are generated from the stats collected till Round 8 of i-League 2012-13.
So, here goes the stats and some interesting facts:

Goals by Indians80
Goals by Foreigners87
Total167

A total of 167 goals were scored till the 8th round out of which Indian have managed to score 80 goals which is 48% of total goals and the rest 87 goals were scored by foreigners.
Pune FC's Subhash Singh is top of the charts among the Indians with 4 goals whereas Ranti Martins of Prayag United is way ahead of the list with a total of 11 goals. Surprisingly only two Indian are there in the top 10 list of goal scorers with Subhash Singh at 8th position while highly rated Holicharan Narzary of Pailan Arrows is lying at 10th spot with 3 goals.

Here is the list of top 10 goalscorers in i-League 2012-13 till now

Some more stats at a glance:

  • One very Interesting fact is that after Pailan Arrows three teams Dempo SC, Air India and United Sikkim FC have the best three ratio of number of Indians in the scoresheet having 5 Indians out of 7 with a aggregate of 71.4% each.
  • Churchill Brothers are more dependent on their foreign signings for a goal with a aggregate of 30% of Indians in the scoresheet.
  • There are a total of 87 players who have managed to put their name on the score-sheet - 33 foreigners and 54 Indians.

Pailan Arrows are way ahead of all in the competition as they are an 100% pure Indian side. Though Pune FC, Air India and ONGC are very close to each other in regards to least foreigners contribution towards each goal, Pune FC are surely way ahead of them in regards to in terms of position in the league table which shows how much their Indian players are contributing alongside their foreign counterparts.

Its a worrying sign for Mohun Bagan as 7 out of their 8 goals have been scored by foreigners which means that 87.5% of their goals have come from them and the Indians are not contributing to their teams success. Majorly, Mohun Bagan are a one man army till now with Nigerian goal scoring machine Odafa Okolie driving their team forward. Churchill Brothers on the other side have also concern in the Indian department but overall their team is doing well as the foreign recruits have been doing extremely well with the likes of Akram Moghrabi and Beto keeping their scoreboard ticking.
